CARNAL ECHO IS HEADED TO THE MARKET STREET FESTIVAL

Watch for us Saturday, May 7 at the Market Street Festival in Columbus, Mississippi. We’re on from 2:45 to 3:45 in Leadership Plaza.

This performance debuts the new band line-up featuring Rachel McCann on lead vocals, Josh Gray on guitar and vocals, Katarina Pejak on keyboards and keys-bass, and Slaven Ljujic on drums.

Gray is front man for The Graysmiths, an original alt-rock act with an album These Bones, two singles recently released, and performances in both Europe and America. Pejak is a Berklee College of Music graduate, well known in her native Serbia as a talented singer-songwriter and performer with two albums, Perfume & Luck and First Hand Stories, and a solid performance history in both Europe and America. Ljujic is a fresh Berklee graduate with outsized chops and performance experience in his native Montenegro and the U.S, including a history of collaborations with notable U.S. vocalists such as Vinx and Larry Watson.

The Market Street Festival performance follows a successful winter-spring tour through the Southeast and Texas, with 2 additional tours slated for 2016.

EVERY DAY I LEAVE YOU EP IN DISTRIBUTION

My lovely EP arrived in January 2016 and is available for purchase in physical form from my website and in digital form from the all the typical places. It features 4 songs with a good bit of stylistic breadth.

The title song, “Every Day I Leave You,” (written by me) is a slow and steamy jazz ballad about hating to leave someone you love. “Forever I Will Fly” (by Josh Gray and Jessica Gray) is a lightly rendered adaptation of Amelia Earhart’s letter to her fiancé G.P. Putnam, where she laid out some unusual conditions for marriage! “

Wait for You” (by me) is a plaintive R&B tune about addiction. And “Amsterdam” (by Josh Gray and me) is a happy gypsy jazz number about the perils of riding your bicycle home after a fine evening of drugs and dancing, through lanes crowded with others in the same predicament, all trying to avoid a dip in the canals!
